A Study on the Application of Project Approach in Forest Kindergarten - Focused on ‘Spider’

    Abstract

    The purpose of this study is to investigate the process of changing the attitude of children to nature through the process and activities of the project approach, focusing on 'spider' in forest kindergarten. The project was held for four weeks from Oct. 5 to Oct. 30, 2015, along with 21 kindergartens and 4 kindergarten teachers in B-kindergarten A, located in A city. At the beginning of the project, the topic was selected by the voluntary interest of the children and the subject network and the question list were created based on the experiences of the children. In the project development stage, various educational methods such as story - telling, observation, and role play were used in class to solve the question list of children. In the final phase of the project, we announced the main event that insects and animals live together. Through the spider project, young children showed strong curiosity about various spiders, insects and animals in the forest and attitude to observe and explore all living things. And it showed a change of attitude that cherished all life.
